2012 is off to a fast start…..February is looming on the horizon.  As I’ve been preparing the script for the Kids’ Praise program, “Revved Up and Ready To Go,” I’m reminded that we often get caught up in the busyness of life and lose sight of our purpose.  The children will be addressing that topic as we learn about the race of our lives.  The point to remember is that the winner of a race is not always the one who goes the fastest.  The race of our life is very much about perseverance and endurance.  The good news is that we are never in the lane alone, and we are never required to supply all the power that moves us along on the road to heaven, the finish line.  God promises His constant presence and energy every single second.  He’s only a prayer away.

Sr.Choir  is meeting each Wednesday evening following the Spiritual Gifts class.  We are going to try to begin our rehearsal by 7:20 pm.  We’ll see how the class runs.  We are learning lots of new anthems for the seasons of Lent and Easter.  The ability to read music is helpful, but not required.  Join us as we lift our voices in song to our gracious and loving God.  You will be blessed.

Mark your calendar for Ash Wednesday – Sr. Choir will meet prior to worship for rehearsal.  Be in the choir room at 6:15 pm (or as your work schedule allows) to robe and rehearse the anthems for Wednesday and the following Sunday.  Ash Wednesday service will begin at 7:00 pm.

NOTE:  For those new to the music ministry, use door D on the Sam Houston side of the church to easily access the choir room.
