Oh how awesome it is to be among brothers and sisters seeking out the Truth, singing praises and shouting out our love for our Saviour! January 21st the youth travelled to Grace Community Church in Houston to attend the Acquire the Fire event. This a two day, Christian youth conference packed full of inspirational dramas, videos, music, and teaching that breaks right through even the most hard hearted attenders. Picture in your minds, thousands of teens gathered in one location, pumped up with excitement and energy, all seriously focused on growing closer to our Lord. I have personally been several times, but I can say from the bottom of my heart, each year feels like a brand new experience. I encourage anyone of any age to attend, with your children, grandchildren, neighbors, and….well… you get the point. I have seen adults and teens be impacted in a great way through ATF events. There is another Acquire the Fire in San Antonio March 2nd – 3rd at the Freeman Coliseum. If anyone would like to attend, please contact me and I will get another group together to go.
2012 promises to be full of incredible experiences. My desire is to continue growing and maturing in the Lord and to have as many young people follow as I follow Jesus. If you have a heart for youth and would like to volunteer, please call Jay at 575-4305 ext. 7007 or just come and check it out. We meet every Wednesday evening following the Oasis meal in the CAMO room and have a great time of fun and fellowship. Sunday mornings at 9am we encourage Jr. & Sr. High students to join us in the Chapel for Sunday School and at 10am for our New Contemporary Youth Church Service.
